Our Story

Owning my own restaurant has been a dream of mine since I was 15 years old. I had a friend, who's Aunt & Uncle owned a small hot dog business called Carm's Italian Beef, in St. Charles, IL. I started my first job there. I worked there until it was time for college and I decided to major in Hotel/ Restaurant Management at Western Illinois University. While going to college, I worked at several other restaurants from server, bartender, and cook. At college, I started working in the dorm's foodservice for Marriott. I did my internship at Marriott's Tan-Tar-A Resort & Golf Club in Osage Beach, MO in catering. For the next 16 years I worked for Marriott which became Sodexho Foodservice, at several different colleges and universities in the Midwest. I then decided to make a change and go into the healthcare food industry. I took a job with Aramark Senior Care and started working in Venice, FL at Jacaranda Trace as the Food Service Director. I worked there for a year and half until they decided to hire and replace me with one of their friends. My wife Teresa, and I didn't know what to do. We prayed about it, and God answered our prayers with money & location for a restaurant. In October 2, 2007...Sweet's Diner opened it's doors. It's a family business with our children Payton, Laney, Carson, Jayden, all working there at times. Thank you to my wife, for letting me fulfill my dream with My Restaurant.
